REGULATIONS UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914-1916.

War Precautions (Passports) Regulations 1916—Regulation 6—Amendment.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the War Precautions Act 1914-1916 to come into operation forthwith.

War Precautions (Passports) Regulations 1916.

Amendment.

Sub-regulation (3) of regulation 6 of the War Precautions (Passports) Regulations, which reads as follows:—

“(3) Before an alien seaman signed on outside the Commonwealth is discharged in the Commonwealth, he shall (unless exempted under clause (iib) of sub-regulation (1) of regulation 6), lodge his passport with an officer authorized to receive it.

is amended to read as follows:—

“(3) Before an alien seaman signed on outside the Commonwealth is discharged in the Commonwealth, he shall lodge his passport (unless exempted under these Regulations from so doing) and also any certificate of nationality or other official certificate establishing his nationality and identity which is in his possession, with an officer authorized to receive such documents.”
