SALARIES (STATUTORY OFFICES) ADJUSTMENT.

An Act to increase the Salaries payable to the Holders of certain Statutory Offices, and for other purposes.

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows :—
Short title.
1. This Act may be cited as the Salaries (Statutory Offices) Adjustment Act 1947.
Commencement.
2.—(1.) This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
(2.) Where, under any Act as amended by this Act, the rate of salary or allowance payable to the holder of an office is increased, salary or allowance at that increased rate shall be deemed to have been payable from and including the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
Repeal of Arbitration (Public Service) Act 1911.
3. The Arbitration (Public Service) Act 1911 is repealed.
Amendment of certain Acts.
4. The Acts specified in the first column of the First Schedule to this Act (being Acts fixing the salaries or allowances payable to the holders of the offices respectively specified in the second column of that Schedule) are amended as respectively specified in the third column of that Schedule.
Citation of Acts.
5.—(1.) Each Act specified in the first column of the Second Schedule to this Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited in the manner specified in the second column of that Schedule opposite to the reference to that Act in the first column.
(2.) Section one of the Commonwealth Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1947 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).
(3.) Section fifteen of the War Service Homes Act 1947 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).
