International Grains Arrangement

An Act to approve the Signature and Acceptance by Australia of the International Grains Arrangement, 1967.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title.
1. This Act may be cited as the International Grains Arrangement Act 1967.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Definitions.
3. In this Act—
“the Food Aid Convention” means the Food Aid Convention that forms part of the International Grains Arrangement, 1967;
“the International Grains Arrangement, 1967” means the arrangement comprising the Wheat Trade Convention, the Food Aid Convention and the associated Preamble adopted by resolution of the International Wheat Conference, 1967, at its final plenary meeting at Rome on the eighteenth day of August, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-seven;
“the Wheat Trade Convention” means the Wheat Trade Convention that forms part of the International Grains Arrangement, 1967.
Approval of signature and acceptance of Arrangement.
4. Approval is given to the signature and acceptance by Australia of the International Grains Arrangement, 1967, in accordance with Articles 36 and 37 of the Wheat Trade Convention and Articles VI and VII of the Food Aid Convention.
