An Act relating to the Salaries and Allowances payable to the Holders of certain Offices.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title.
1. This Act may be cited as the Salaries Act 1968.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent but the amendments made by this Act shall be deemed to have taken effect on the first day of December, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-eight.
Amendment of certain Acts.
3. The Acts specified in the first column of the First Schedule to this Act (being Acts containing provisions relating to the salaries payable to the holders of the offices respectively specified in the second column of that Schedule) are amended as respectively specified in the third column of that Schedule.
Citation of Acts.
4.—(1.) An Act specified in the first column of the Second Schedule to this Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited in the manner specified in the second column of that Schedule opposite to the reference to that Act in the first column.
(2.) Section 1 of the Commonwealth Railways Act 1968 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).
(3.) Section 1 of the Post and Telegraph Act (No. 2) 1968 is amended by omitting sub-section (4.).
(4.) Section 1 of the Public Service Act (No. 2) 1968 is amended by omitting sub-section (4.).
(5.) Section 1 of the Repatriation Act 1968 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).
