REGULATIONS UNDER THE HIGH COMMISSIONER (UNITED
KINGDOM) ACT 1909-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the High Commissioner (United Kingdom) Act 1909-1966.

Amendment of the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations

Fourth Schedule.

1. The Fourth Schedule of the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—

Supplementary allowance.

2. Where, during a period that commenced on or after the first day of January, 1971, and ended before the commencement of these Regulations, an officer or employee occupied, or performed the duties of, an office specified in the Fourth Schedule to the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations as amended by these Regulations and the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if—

(a) the amendment of those Regulations effected by the last preceding regulation had come into operation on the first day of January, 1971; and

(b) the classification of that office during that period had been the rate or the scale of rates specified in column 2 of that Schedule opposite to that office in column 1 of that Schedule,

exceeds the total remuneration paid or payable to him in respect of that period, the officer or employee is entitled to be paid an allowance of an amount equal to the excess.
