Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003
EXEMPTION FROM DISPLAYING A MARITIME SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD (MSIC)
I, PAULINE MARGARET SULLIVAN, General Manager, Transport Security Operations, Office of Transport Security, under regulation 6.07M of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003 (the Regulations), GIVE an exemption from displaying a MSIC within Australian Amalgamated Terminals Pty Limited controlled maritime security zones at the following facilities:
- Fisherman Islands, Port of Brisbane QLD
- Port Kembla Terminal, Port Kembla NSW
- Appleton Dock, Port of Melbourne VIC
- Webb Dock, Port Of Melbourne VIC
This exemption is given on condition that:
- The exemption only applies within the boundaries of the Australian Amalgamated Terminals Pty Limited controlled maritime security zones established under section 102 of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 at the facilities specified in this Notice; and
- The exemption only applies to employees of Australian Amalgamated Terminals Pty Limited, Patrick Stevedore Operations Pty Limited and Qube Ports Pty Ltd authorised and required to operate mobile site equipment; and
- The exemption only applies when the holder of the MSIC is mounted upon and operating mobile site equipment fitted with a MSIC enabled start control activator and the MSIC is inserted into the card reader cradle for this purpose; and
- At all times other than specified above persons must properly display the MSIC within the maritime security zones.
This exemption operates from 22 September 2014 and ceases on 21 September 2016, unless revoked earlier.
