TORRES STRAIT TROPICAL ROCK LOBSTER FISHERY

Draft Strategic Assessment Report

The Protected Zone Joint Authority (PZJA) intends to determine a plan of management for the Torres Strait Tropical Rock Lobster Fishery under section 15A of the Torres Strait Fisheries Act 1984. The PZJA, to meet assessment requirements under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, must also release for public comment a draft Strategic Assessment Report on how the plan of management manages environmental impacts of fishing in the Tropical Rock Lobster Fishery.

The PZJA invites interested persons to make written submissions on the draft Strategic Assessment Report.

Written submissions must be received by the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) by 5PM AEST on 26 September 2016.

Copies of the draft Strategic Assessment Report will be sent to Torres Strait Tropical Rock Lobster Fishery licence holders and Registered Native Title Body Corporates.
