An Act to amend the law relating to duties of customs in respect of sheep and lamb, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act is the Customs Charges and Levies Legislation Amendment (Sheep and Lamb) Act 2020.
(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Legislation that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
National Residue Survey (Customs) Levy Act 1998
1 Clause 1 of Schedule 5
Repeal the clause, substitute:
In this Schedule:
lamb means an ovine animal that:
(a) is under 12 months of age; or
(b) does not have any permanent incisor teeth in wear.
sheep does not include lambs.
Primary Industries (Customs) Charges Act 1999
2 Clause 1 of Schedule 11 (definition of lamb)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
lamb means an ovine animal that:
(a) is under 12 months of age; or
(b) does not have any permanent incisor teeth in wear.
3 Clause 1 of Schedule 12 (definition of lamb)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
lamb means an ovine animal that:
(a) is under 12 months of age; or
(b) does not have any permanent incisor teeth in wear.
4 Application provision
The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to the export of sheep or lambs from Australia on or after 1 January 2021.
