Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005

 

EXEMPTION FROM DISPLAYING AN AVIATION SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD IN A SECURE AREA

 

 

I, JARAN BLETHYN, Assistant Director, Transport Security Operations, Aviation and Maritime Security

Division, an authorised Delegate of the Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs, under section 127 of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004, make this notice under subregulation 3.08(3) of the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (the Regulations).

 

I, GIVE event organisers, volunteers and invited guests of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation Gold Dinner event who have been approved by Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, an exemption from displaying an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) in the secure area of Sydney Airport, when in the airside area moving along the designated transit route between Gates 20 and 25 and the special event zone (SEZ) established in notice NTC-21001.

 

This notice is subject to the following conditions:

 

  1. For event organisers moving between Gate 20 and the SEZ (between 7-12 June):

 

  1. all people are to have their names reconciled by contracted airport security staff against an approved list prior to entering the SEZ;

 

b.       the movement of people between Gate 20 and the SEZ is by foot along the designated transit route/path identified on the map which forms part of notice NTC-21001;

 

c.       movement between Gate 20 and the SEZ is to be continuously monitored by contracted airport security staff member(s) positioned at Gate 20 and the access point into the SEZ.

 

2.       For guests arriving at the SEZ via Gate 25 on Thursday 10 June 2021:

 

  1. they are to register in the International Terminal at check in counter G and have their names reconciled against an approved guest list by event organisers and/or contracted airport security staff and receive an event ticket to present to security staff prior to boarding buses at Gate 25;

 

b.       buses will transport guests from Gate 25 directly to the SEZ along the designated transit route identified on the map which forms part of notice NTC-21001;

 

c.       buses involved in the movement of guests between Gate 25 and the SEZ are to be driven by a contracted Sydney Airport Corporation Limited staff member that validly displays an ASIC.

 

3.       This exemption operates from: 8 am to 4 pm on Monday 7 June 2021 and from 5 am on Tuesday 8 June 2021 to 7 am on Saturday 12 June 2021 for persons entering via Gate 20; and on Thursday 10 June 2021 for persons arriving via Gate 25.
