Extension of appointment of a member of the Board of Food Standards Australia New Zealand

Professor Mark Lawrence was appointed as a member of the Board of Food Standards Australia New Zealand for a period of four years, from 7 July 2017 to 6 July 2021.   As Professor Lawrence’s original term as a member of the Board has ended and, as the Minister has not made a decision to re-appoint or not to re-appoint Professor Lawrence, then by virtue of subsection 117(5) of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 (Cth), his term as a member of the Board will continue on the basis that the original term is extended until the end of the period of 6 months from 7 July 2021; or until the Minister notifies whether Professor Lawrence is reappointed or not, whichever first happens.
