NOTICE OF INVESTIGATION – CARDIOMYOPATHY – FOCUSED

Section 196G of the

Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986

The Repatriation Medical Authority (the Authority) gives notice under section 196G of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 (the VEA) that it intends to carry out an investigation pursuant to subsections 196B(7) and 196B(7A) of the VEA in respect of "Infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (COVID-19) as a possible causal factor for CARDIOMYOPATHY”.

This investigation will be carried out in the context of Statements of Principles Instrument Nos. 57 and 58 of 2024 concerning cardiomyopathy.

The Authority invites the following persons and organisations to make written submissions to the Authority in respect of the investigation:

The Authority will hold its first meeting for the purposes of this investigation on 4 February 2025.
