Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory)

(Land Description) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) (Land Description) Regulations

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“the Act” means the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976.

Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Act

3. Schedule 1 to the Act is amended by omitting the description and diagram set out in the item in Part 3 relating to NEWCASTLE WATERS LOCALITY and substituting the following description:

“All that parcel of land situated near the town of Newcastle Waters in the Northern Territory of Australia containing an area of 214 hectares more or less, being all of Northern Territory portion 3624 and being more particularly delineated on Survey Plan S.89/37 lodged with the Surveyor-General, Darwin.”.
