Foreign Judgments Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and being satisfied in respect of Switzerland and Taiwan, China of the matters specified in subsections 5 (1) and (3) of the Foreign Judgments Act 1991, in respect of Fiji of the matter specified in subsection 5 (1) of that Act, and in respect of the Province of Manitoba (Canada) of the matter specified in subsection 5 (3) of that Act, make the following Regulations under that Act.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Foreign Judgments Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 5 (Specified inferior courts)

2.1   Subregulation 5 (3):

Add at the end:

 “; (c) the Provincial Court of Manitoba.”.

2.2   Regulation 5:

Add at the end:

 (4) Part 2 of the Act extends in relation to the following inferior courts of Switzerland:

 (a) Bezirksgerichte;

 (b) Erstinstanzliche Gerichte;

 (c) Arbeitsgerichte;

 (d) Mietgerichte.

 (5) Part 2 of the Act extends in relation to each District Court of Taiwan, China.”.

3.   Schedule (Superior Courts)

3.1   Item 8:

Omit the item, substitute:

“8

3.2   After item 25A, insert:
