Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence (Visiting Forces) Act 1963.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 15 August 1983.

Declaration of countries within the Commonwealth

2. Regulation 4 of the Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations is amended by omitting all the words after “Nations:” and substituting—

“Canada;

Fiji;

Malaysia;

New Zealand;

Papua New Guinea;

Republic of Singapore;

Tonga;

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.”.

Declaration of countries other than Commonwealth countries in relation to which the Act applies

3. Regulation 5 of the Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations is amended by omitting “(except sub-section 25 (2))”.

Repeal of regulation 5a

4. Regulation 5a of the Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations is repealed.

Repeal of regulations 7 and 8

5. Regulations 7 and 8 of the Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations are repealed.

Schedule

6. The Schedule to the Defence (Visiting Forces) Regulations is amended by omitting Form 1.
