Export Control (Orders) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and in pursuance of section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Export Control Act 1982.

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Export Control (Orders) Regulations.

Interpretation

 2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, “the Act” means the Export Control Act 1982.

Orders

 3. The Minister may, by instrument in writing, make orders, not inconsistent with regulations made under the Act, with respect to any matter for or in relation to which provision may be made by regulations made under the Act.

Offences

 4 Where an order made under these Regulations provides that the order or a provision of the order is a penal provision, a person who contravenes or fails to comply with that order or provision, as the case may be, is guilty of an offence against these Regulations and is punishable, upon conviction, by a fine not exceeding $1,000.
