1 Name of Regulations

  These Regulations are the Imported Food Control Amendment Regulations 2003 (No. 1).

2 Commencement

  These Regulations commence on 12 January 2004.

3 Amendment of Imported Food Control Regulations 1993

  Schedule 1 amends the Imported Food Control Regulations 1993.

Schedule 1 Amendments

[1] Regulation 3, before definition of batch

Australian Customs Service entry management system means the computerised import control system used by the Australian Customs Service and AQIS.

[2] Regulation 3, definition of consignment

consignment means food of a particular kind that comprises 1 or more batches imported by the same owner at the same time and described by a single line in an import entry.

Assessment of information in relation to a consignment of food, other than an assessment as part of an inspection under item 1, for inclusion in a food control certificate for an import entry to which a recognised foreign government certificate relates

For the assessment in relation to the import entry:

 (a) for each quarter hour, or part of a quarter hour, of service — $35.50; or

 (b) during the period 12 January 2004 to 11 January 2005 inclusive, for each quarter hour, or part of a quarter hour, of service — $14

Assessment of information in relation to a consignment of food, other than an assessment as part of an inspection under item 1, for inclusion in a food control certificate

For the assessment in relation to an import entry:

 (a) for each quarter hour, or part of a quarter hour, of service — $35.50; or

 (b) during the period 12 January 2004 to 11 January 2005 inclusive, for each quarter hour, or part of a quarter hour of service — $14

Making an import entry

 (a) For the lodgement of an electronic entry in the Australian Customs Service entry management system:

 (i) $8; or

 (ii) during the period 12 January 2004 to 11 January 2005 inclusive — $3

 (b) For an entry of any other kind:

 (i) $14; or

 (ii) during the period 12 January 2004 to 11 January 2005 inclusive — $7
