Licence Area Plan – Bourke

(1)    The Australian Broadcasting Authority hereby makes this plan for community radio broadcasting services and open narrowcasting services in the Bourke area of New South Wales, under section 26(1) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

(2)    One community radio broadcasting service and nine open narrowcasting radio services are to be available in the Bourke area described at Attachment 1.1 to this determination with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the services that are to be available in the area described at Attachment 1.1 is set out in the Schedule and Attachments 1.2 - 1.13 and 1.15 - 1.17 to this Determination.

(3)    One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the Bourke area described at Attachment 2.1 to this determination with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 2.1 is set out in the Schedule and Attachments 2.2 – 2.6  to this Determination.

(4)    One community radio broadcasting service and one open narrowcasting radio service is to be available in the Lightning Ridge area described at Attachment 3.1 to this determination with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the services that are to be available in the area described at Attachment 3.1 is set out in the Schedule and Attachments 3.2 to 3.3 to this Determination.

(5)    One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the Wilcannia area as described at Attachment 4.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 4.1 are set out in Schedule Four and Attachment 4.2 to this plan.

(6)    A reference in this plan to a schedule or an attachment includes a reference to a schedule or attachment as amended from time to time.
