The Council of the Australian National University makes the following Statute under section 50 of the Australian National University Act 1991.

1 Name of Statute

1.1 This Statute is the Halls of Residence Statute 2005.

2 Commencement

2.1 This Statute commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Rules

3.1 The Council may make rules regulating, or providing for regulation of, the management, good government and discipline of halls of residence established in connection with the University.

4 Repeal and saving

4.1 The Halls of Residence Statute, as amended and in force immediately before the commencement of this Statute, is repealed.

4.2 Rules made under the Halls of Residence Statute, as amended and in force immediately before the commencement of this Statute, continue in force as if they were made under this Statute and may be amended or repealed accordingly.
