1 Name of Plan of Management amendment
This Plan of Management amendment is the Whitsundays Plan of Management Amendment 2005 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This Plan of Management amendment commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Amendment of Whitsundays Plan of Management 1998

(14) Because the Authority considers that harvest fishing and aquaculture may conflict with the increased use of the Planning Area for tourism and recreation and could become unsustainable because of the cumulative impact of many uses of the Planning Area and the relatively limited extent of reef development, it will:
(a) cap the number of relevant permissions for harvest fishing and aquaculture in the Planning Area; and
(b) assess the impact of harvest fishing and aquaculture at individual sites upon application for continuation of a permit; and
(c) facilitate the relocation of existing harvest fisheries and aquaculture operations to suitable sites outside the Planning Area.
