I, PETER ROBERT GARRETT, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, make this Determination under section 21 of the Fuel Quality Standards Act 2000.

1 Name of Determination

  This Determination is the Fuel Standard (Automotive Diesel) Amendment Determination 2009 (No. 1).

2 Commencement

  This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Amendment of Fuel Standard (Automotive Diesel) Determination 2001

  Schedule 1 amends the Fuel Standard (Automotive Diesel) Determination 2001.

2A Definitions

  In this Determination:

ASTM followed by an alphanumeric code means the testing method developed by ASTM International under that alphanumeric code.

ASTM International means the standards development organisation of that name.

biodiesel has the same meaning as in the Fuel Standard (Biodiesel) Determination 2003.

diesel means automotive diesel.

EN followed by a number means the testing method developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) under the code and number.

Energy Institute means the standards development organisation of that name.

European Committee for Standardization (CEN) means the standards development organisation of that name.

IP followed by a number means the testing method developed by the Energy Institute under the code and number.

 (6) The biodiesel component of diesel must meet the requirements of the fuel quality standard for biodiesel set out in the Fuel Standard (Biodiesel) Determination 2003.

4 Testing methods

  Compliance with the standard set out in section 3 for a substance or parameter is determined by application of the testing method, as existing on the commencement of the Fuel Standard (Automotive Diesel) Amendment Determination 2009 (No. 1), for the substance or parameter in the following table.
