      1.                            This instrument is the Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule - Definitions and Vehicle Categories) 2005 Amendment 4.
    2.                                  Commencement
      1.                            This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
  2. amendment of vehicle standard
    1.                                  The changes specified in Schedule 1 amend Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule - Definitions and Vehicle Categories) 2005.

 

 


Schedule 1

[1]               Add the following, in alphabetical order, to 3.  DEFINITIONS

 ENGINE START CONTROL - a hand-operated device that enables the driver               to activate the vehicle's propulsion system.  This includes but is not limited to a               remote, key or push button device.

[2]               Clause 4.3.3 amend to read

A passenger vehicle having up to.........................

Alternatively, a vehicle that meets the definition of CATEGORY G - OFF-ROAD VEHICLES under Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and is in category M1.”

[3]               Clause 5.2 amend by deleting the following from the definitions of  LEM1 and LEM2

 “up to 450 kg Unladen Mass and

[4]               Clause 5.2 amend by deleting the following from the definitions of  LEP1 and LEP2:

“over 450 kg Unladen Mass and/or

[5]               Clause 5.2 amend by deleting the following from the definitions of  LEG1 and LEG2:

“over 450 kg Unladen Mass and”
