Export Control (Orders) Regulations 1982
I, PETER DOUGLAS SIDEBOTTOM, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, make this Order under regulation 3 of the Export Control (Orders) Regulations 1982.

1 Name of Order
This Order is the Export Control (Prescribed Goods — General) Amendment Order 2011 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This Order commences on the day after registration.
3 Amendment of Export Control (Prescribed Goods — General) Order 2005
Schedule 1 amends the Export Control (Prescribed Goods — General) Order 2005.

(section 3)
[1] Subsections 13.05 (3) and (4)
substitute
(3) For the purposes of the definition of official mark in section 3 of the Act, a mark of the following design (but with the registration number of the establishment at which the goods were produced substituted for ‘A’), and of the dimensions set out in subsection (4), is declared to be an official mark:
Note: The English translation of the Arabic text (arched) is: ‘Lawful, permissible according to Islamic law’.
(4) The dimensions are those specified in:
(a) for a large size mark — column 3 of the following table; or
(b) for a medium size mark — column 4 of the following table; or
(c) for a small size mark — column 5 of the following table.

18.03 Transitional provision relating to official marks — halal meat
(1) In this section:
the amending order means the Export Control (Prescribed Goods — General) Amendment Order 2011 (No. 1).
the commencement date means the day on which the amending order commenced.
(2) Despite the amendment made by item [1] of Schedule 1 to the amending order, the mark declared to be an official mark by subsections 13.05 (3) and (4) of this Order as in force immediately before the commencement date continues to be an official mark for 6 months after the commencement date.
