1  Name of regulation

  This regulation is the Health Insurance (General Medical Services Table) Amendment (Bariatric and Other Measures) Regulation 2013.

2  Commencement

  This regulation commences on 1 July 2013.

3  Authority

  This regulation is made under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

4  Schedule(s)

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

1  Subclauses 1.2.4(1) and 1.2.5(1) of Schedule 1

Omit “14215”, substitute “14212”.

2  Items 2497, 2598, 2600, 2603, 2606, 2610, 2613 and 2616 of Schedule 1

Omit “woman”, substitute “person”.

3  Item 14215 of Schedule 1

Repeal the item.

4  Item 20791 of Schedule 1

Omit “for gastric reduction or gastroplasty for the treatment of morbid obesity”, substitute “for a patient with clinically severe obesity”.

5  Item 20920 of Schedule 1

Omit “male”.

6  Items 30511, 30512 and 30514 of Schedule 1

Repeal the items.

7  Item 30515 of Schedule 1

After “enteroenterostomy”, insert “, not being a service to which any of items 31569 to 31581 apply”.

After “gastrectomy”, insert “, not being a service associated with a service to which any of items 31569 to 31581 apply”.
