TORRES STRAIT PRAWN FISHERY FISHING SEASON DETERMINATION 2015

The PROTECTED ZONE JOINT AUTHORITY makes the following Determination pursuant to section 15A of the Torres Strait Fisheries Act 1984 under subsection 2.3(2) of the Torres Strait Prawn Fishery Management Plan 2009.

Citation

1. This Determination may be cited as the Torres Strait Prawn Fishery Fishing Season Determination 2015.

Commencement

2. This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

Interpretation

3. Terms used in this Determination that are defined for the purposes of the Torres Strait Prawn Fishery Management Plan 2009 have the same meanings in this Determination as they have in that Plan.

Notes: 1. Terms defined in the Torres Strait Fisheries Act 1984 have the same meanings in this Determination.

Determination of the fishing season

4. The fishing season in the Torres Strait Prawn Fishery for a particular year is the period specified as follows:

a)        for the 2016 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2016 to 6 am on 1 December 2016 local time;

b)        for the 2017 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2017 to 6 am on 1 December 2017 local time;

c)        for the 2018 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2018 to 6 am on 1 December 2018 local time;

d)        for the 2019 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2019 to 6 am on 1 December 2019 local time;

e)        for the 2020 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2020 to 6 am on 1 December 2020 local time;

f)         for the 2021 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2021 to 6 am on 1 December 2021 local time;

g)        for the 2022 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2022 to 6 am on 1 December 2022 local time;

h)        for the 2023 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2023 to 6 am on 1 December 2023 local time;

i)          for the 2024 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2024 to 6 am on 1 December 2024 local time; and

j)          for the 2025 year, the period from 6 pm on 1 February 2025 to 6 am on 1 December 2025 local time.
