 Description:

The purpose of the Professional Qualities Reflection is for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians trainees to record the development of ideas and insights that may impact on their medical professionalism through the process of reflection.  This allows trainees to revisit an experience and extract learning principles through the process of guided critical reflection (review, evaluation and discussion).  Learning outcomes of the reflective process are used to enhance future practice.

Data is collected through trainee physicians identifying a medically and professionally significant event, or series of events, and to complete a guided analysis. Trainees then meet with their professional development advisor who provides feedback. The Professional Qualities Reflection is recorded in the trainee’s learning portfolio.

The Professional Qualities Reflection is operated by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
