This instrument is the Australian Skills Quality Authority Instrument Fixing Fees Amendment (Annual Registration Fees) Determination 2017.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The whole of this instrument. | The later of: (a) the start of the day after this instrument is registered; and (b) the same time as Schedule 1 to the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Charges) Amendment (Annual Registration Charge) Act 2017 commences. This instrument is made under section 232 of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

1 Section 3
Repeal the section, substitute:
3 Transitional arrangements—Australian Skills Quality Authority Instrument Fixing Fees Amendment (Annual Registration Fees) Determination 2017
The amendments of this instrument made by the Australian Skills Quality Authority Instrument Fixing Fees Amendment (Annual Registration Fees) Determination 2017 apply in relation to the registration of an NVR registered training organisation, or a registered provider, in relation to the financial year starting on 1 July 2017 and later financial years.
2 Section 6 (definition of Units of competency)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
Units of competency has the same meaning as in the Act.
Note: “Units of competency” is the term used for the specification of industry knowledge and skill and the application of that knowledge and skill to the standard of performance expected in the workplace.
3 Section 6 (definition of VET qualification)
Repeal the definition.
4 Clause 1 of Schedule A (table item 1.4)
Repeal the item.
5 Clause 2 of Schedule A (table item 2.4)
Repeal the item.
6 Clause 2 of Schedule B
Repeal the clause.
7 Paragraph 5(d) of Schedule B
Repeal the paragraph.
