1  Name

  This Instrument is the Autonomous Sanctions (Classes of Sanctioned Vessels – Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) Designation 2017.

2  Commencement

  This Instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

  This Instrument is made under paragraph 8(1)(b) of the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011.

4  Definitions

  In this Instrument:

 

DPRK means the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

 

DPRK vessel class means all vessels entitled to fly the flag of the DPRK or registered in the DPRK, or that are owned, operated or chartered by, or otherwise under the control or direction of, an entity or a person mentioned in an item of the table

An entity or person acting on behalf of, or at the direction of, an entity or a person mentioned in item 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7

An entity owned or controlled by a person or entity mentioned in item 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7

 

vessel means a vessel or boat of any description and includes a hovercraft and any floating structure, but does not include an installation.

 

5  Designation of vessels

  For paragraph 8(1)(b) of the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011, each vessel that comes within the DPRK vessel class is a sanctioned vessel for the DPRK.
