Determination 2017/14:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Judicial and Related Offices

1.                      Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to certain holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii) This determination commences the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.                  In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2 Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Merit Protection Commissioner”.

1.                  Clause 1.2 commences on 1 July 2017.
2.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.12” in Column 3 of the entry for Parliamentary Budget Officer.
3.                  The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the entry in Clause 2.2.12 relating to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.
4.                  The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by inserting in Clause 2.2.12 the following: “Australian Human Rights Commission, President: Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher will receive $445,690 Total Remuneration for the initial term of her appointment, until 29 July 2024”
5.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “2.2.12” in Column 3 of the entry for President, Australian Human Rights Commission.
6.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.13” in Column 3 of the entry for Chief Executive Officer, Infrastructure Australia.
7.                  The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting Clause 2.2.13.
8.             The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the last sentence in Clause 2.2.3 .

PART 2 – PART-TIME OFFICES

2.1 In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2 Table B3 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board”.

2.3 Clause 2.2 commences on 1 July 2017.   

2.4 Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “$21,310” in “Column 3 Deputy” of the entry for “National Portrait Gallery of Australia”.  

2.5 Clause 2.4 commences on 1 July 2017. 

2.6 Table A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting ‘A17” in Column 5 of the entry for Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd.

2.7 Table A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “A15” in Column 5 of the entry for Independent Hospital Pricing Authority.

2.8 The Additional Sub-clauses to Table A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting Clause A15 and Clause A17.

2.9 Table B3 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “B3.19” in Column 5 of the entry for Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, Director.

2.10 The Additional Sub-clauses to Table B3 of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting Clause B3.19.

2.11 Table C2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “C2.2” in Column 5 of the entry for Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, Chair.

2.12 The Additional Sub-clauses to Table C2 are amended by deleting Clause “C2.2”.

PART 3 – JUDICIAL AND RELATED OFFICES

3.1 In this part, Determination Number 09 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

3.2 The Additional Clauses to Table 3 of the Principal Determination are amended by replacing the date at Clause (3) of the entry for Major-General Ian Westwood AM, Chief Judge Advocate with “1 July 2017”.
