Determination 2017/17:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Judicial and Related Offices

(i)                     Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to certain holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii) This determination commences the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.1                 In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2                 Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.11” in Column 3 of the entry for Chief Executive, National Capital Authority.

1.3                 The Additional Clauses to Tabe 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the Clause 2.2.11 relating to the Chief Executive, National Capital Authority.

1.4                 Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “2.2.11” in Column 3 of the entry for Chief Executive Officer, National Disability Insurance Scheme Launch Transition Agency.

1.5                 The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by inserting in Clause 2.2.11 the following: “National Disability Insurance Scheme Launch Transition Agency, Chief Executive Officer: Mr Roberto De Luca will receive $696,000 Total Remuneration for the initial term of his appointment, until 27 August 2020”.

1.6                 Clauses 1.4 and 1.5 commence on 28 August 2017.

1.7                 Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by renaming the “Children’s eSafety Commissioner to “eSafety Commissioner”.

PART 2 PART-TIME OFFICES

2.1 In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2 Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “A15” in Column 5 of the entry for Foreign Investment Review Board.

2.3 The additional sub clauses to Table A are amended by inserting in Clause A15 the  following: “Foreign Investment Review Board: While the Hon Cheryl Edwardes AM occupies the office of Member she will receive an annual fee of $42,700 and not the amount specified in Column 4.

2.4 Clauses 2.2 and 2.3 commence on 10 August 2017.

2.5 Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Independent National Security Legislation Monitor”.

3.1 In this part, Determination Number 09 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

3.2 Clause 3.2 of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing $33,520 with “$34,160”.

3.3 Clause 3.2 commences on 27 August 2017.
