Radiocommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Instrument 2017 (No. 1)
The Australian Communications and Media Authority makes the following instrument under subsection 60(1) of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005 and subsection 162(1), subsection 182(1) and section 262 of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

This is the Radiocommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Instrument 2017 (No. 1).
This instrument commences at the start of the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

This instrument is made under:
(a) subsection 60(1) of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005; and
(b) subsection 162(1), subsection 182(1) and section 262 of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.
4 Repeal of the Radiocommunications (Cordless Telephone) Standard 2008
The Radiocommunications (Cordless Telephone) Standard 2008 [F2008L04652] is repealed.
5 Amendments
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned.

1 Part 4, subsection 4.1(1)
Repeal the subsection, substitute:
(1) Some cordless communications devices authorised by the Radiocommunications (Cordless Communications Devices) Class Licence 2001 operate in the frequency band 1880–1990 MHz. This band is adjacent to the 1800 MHz spectrum licensed band. Technologies which may operate in the band are those complying with the Radiocommunications (Digital Cordless Communications Devices – DECT Devices) Standard 2017 (the DECT standard). The DECT standard supports operation over the entire 1880–1900 MHz band.
