Determination 2017/20:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

1.                      Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to certain holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii) This determination commences the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.                  In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
2.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chief Executive Officer, Australian Crime Commissioner”.

1.                  Clause 1.2 commences 2 November 2017.
2.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for the “Principal Member, Veterans’ Review Board (VRB)” and inserting the following entry after the entry for “e-Safety Commissioner”.

1.                  Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for the “Merit Protection Commissioner” and inserting the following entry after the entry for “Registrar of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations”.

1.                  The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination are amended by inserting “2.2.13 Merit Protection Commissioner: Ms Annwyn Godwin will receive $319,620 Total Remuneration for the term of her current appointment, until 25 January 2018.” after clause 2.2.12.
2.                  Clauses 1.4 to 1.6 commence on 26 October 2017.
3.                  Table 3A of Part 3 the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Mr Mark Bielecki, Registered Organisations Commissioner”.

1.                  Table 3B of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Ms June Oscar, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.”

1.             Clauses 1.8 to 1.9 commence on 17 October 2017
2.             Table 3B of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry before the entry for “Mr Eric Hutchinson, Administrator of Norfolk Island”.  

1.             Clause 1.10 commences on 5 October 2017.
2.             Table 3B of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for “Mr Barry Haase, Administrator of Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands”.

PART 2 – PART-TIME OFFICES

2.1 In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2 Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the name “Western Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (WSA Co)” in Column 1 with “WSA Co Limited”.

2.3 Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “A17” in Column 5 for the entry for “Indigenous Business Australia”.

2.4 The Additional sub-clause A17 to Table A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the term “Deleted” and inserting the following: “Indigenous Business Australia: A Member of the Board who is appointed Chair of the Finance, Investment and Performance Committee will receive an annual fee of $11,730.  A Member of the Board who is appointed a Member of the Finance, Investment and Performance Committee will receive an annual fee of $5,870.”

2.5 Clauses 2.3 to 2.4 commence on 26 October 2017.

2.6 Table B3 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for “Veterans’ Review Board (Senior Member, Member)” and inserting the following entry after the entry for “Superannuation Complaints Tribunal”.

2.7 Clause 2.6 commences on 26 October 2017.

2.8 Table B3 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for the “Education Investment Fund Advisory Board”.
