Determination 2017/21:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Judicial and Related Offices

(i)                     Pursuant to subsections 7(3), 7(4) and 7(4B) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to certain holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii) This determination commences the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation unless otherwise specified.

1.1                 In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2                 Table 3A of Part 3 the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Mr Tony Usher, Chief Executive Officer, Aboriginal Hostels Limited”.

3.1 In this part, Determination Number 09 of 2017 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

3.2 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry in Clause 4.1.5 and inserting the following: ‘private vehicle running costs’ does not include expenditure relating to the acquisition, leasing or hire of any vehicle;.

3.3 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 4.1.6 with the following: ‘luxury car’ means a car the value of which exceeds the luxury car tax threshold (for non-fuel-efficient cars) mentioned in subsection 25-1(3A) of the A New Tax System (Luxury Car Tax) Act 1999.

3.4 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause 4.2, and subclauses 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.

3.5 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry in Clause 4.3 (i) and inserting the following: a private plated vehicle, that is generally made available by the Commonwealth for the purpose, and is not a luxury car, leased in accordance with the FVS Policy; or.

3.6 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the wordprivatelyin Clause 4.4 with “private”.

3.7 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry in Clause 4.4 (i) and inserting the following: a private plated vehicle, that is generally made available by the Commonwealth for the purpose, and is not a luxury car, leased in accordance with the FVS Policy; or”.

3.8 Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the wordprivately” in Clause 4.5 with “private.
