Schedule 1—Amendments

Australian Citizenship Regulation 2016

1  Name

  This instrument is the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Concessional Application Fees) Regulations 2018.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument.

 (2) Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this instrument. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument.

3  Authority

  This instrument is made under the Australian Citizenship Act 2007.

4  Schedules

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Australian Citizenship Regulation 2016

1  Subsections 17(4) and (5)

Repeal the subsections.

2  In the appropriate position in Part 4

Insert:

22  Application of amendments made by the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Concessional Application Fees) Regulations 2018

  The amendments made by Schedule 1 to the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Concessional Application Fees) Regulations 2018 apply in relation to an application made on or after 1 July 2018.

3  Schedule 3 (table items 10 to 13)

Repeal the items.

4  Schedule 3 (table item 14, column 1)

Omit “items 5 to 13 or items 15 to 18”, substitute “item 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16 or 18”.

5  Schedule 3 (table item 16, column 1)

Omit “items 5 to 15 or items 17 and”, substitute “item 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 or”.

6  Schedule 3 (table item 17)

Repeal the item.

7  Schedule 3 (table item 18, column 1)

Omit “, 8, 13 or 17”, substitute “or 8”.
