DETERMINATION RELATING TO FISHING OTHER THAN COMMERCIAL FISHING

CORAL SEA MARINE PARK

I, JASON MUNDY, Acting Director of National Parks, under subregulation 12.35(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000, HEREBY DETERMINE for the Special Purpose Zone (Trawl), Habitat Protection Zone, and Habitat Protection Zone (Reefs), being the areas shown as such in the park map in Schedule 2 and described in Schedule 4 to the Coral Sea Marine Park Management Plan 2018, and being areas in which fishing other than commercial fishing is allowed, that:

  1. subject to paragraph (b), the limits prescribed at the date of this Determination by or under relevant laws of the State of Queensland that apply to the area of the Park with respect to-
    1. the kind of fish that a person may take, or must not take;
    2. the maximum number of fish, or maximum number of a species of fish, that a person may possess in a day;
    3. the minimum or maximum size of fish, or minimum or maximum size of a species of fish, that a person may take;
    4. the maximum number of fillets of fish, or the maximum number of fillets of a species of fish, that a person may possess in a day; and
    5. the minimum or maximum size of fillets of fish, or minimum or maximum size of fillets of a species of fish, that a person may possess,

apply to fishing in the zones named above; and

b.      for the kinds of fish or fish species specified in the Schedule hereto, the maximum number of fish that a person may possess in a day is 5 for that fish or fish species;
