1  Name

  This instrument is the Health Insurance Legislation Amendment (Services for Patients in Residential Aged Care Facilities) Regulations 2019.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

  This instrument is made under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

4  Schedules

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendments

 

Health Insurance (General Medical Services Table) Regulations 2018

1  Subclause 1.2.4(1) of Schedule 1

Omit “and 17609 to 17690”, substitute “, 17609 to 17690 and 90020 to 90096”.

2  Paragraph 1.2.4(3)(a) of Schedule 1

Omit “3 to 96 and 5000 to 5267”, substitute “3 to 65, 5000 to 5267 and 90020 to 90096”.

3  Subclause 1.2.5(1) of Schedule 1

Omit “and 16515 to 51318”, substitute “, 16515 to 51318 and 90020 to 90096”.

4  At the end of subclause 1.2.6(1) of Schedule 1

Add “and items 90020 to 90096”.

5  Clause 1.2.7 of Schedule 1

After “3 to 10816”, insert “and 90020 to 90096”.

6  Division 2.1 of Schedule 1 (heading)

Repeal the heading (including the note), substitute:

2.30A.1  Fee in relation to the first patient during each attendance at a residential aged care facility

 (1) For the first patient attended during one attendance by a general practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 90020, 90035, 90043 or 90051 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $55.

 (2) For the first patient attended during one attendance by a medical practitioner at one residential aged care facility on one occasion, the fee for the medical service described in whichever of items 90092, 90093, 90095 or 90096 applies is the amount listed in the item plus $40.
