Electoral and Referendum Regulation 2016

1  Name

  This instrument is the Electoral and Referendum Amendment (Modernisation) Regulations 2019.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1.  The whole of this instrument

The later of:

(a) the start of the day after this instrument is registered; and

(b) the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Electoral Legislation Amendment (Modernisation and Other Measures) Act 2019.

  This instrument is made under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

4  Schedules

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendments

 

Electoral and Referendum Regulation 2016

1  Division 1A of Part 4

Repeal the Division, substitute:

Division 1ASenate ballot paper (Form E)

13A  Senate ballot paper (Form E)

  For the purposes of paragraph 392(2)(b) of the Act, Form E in Schedule 3 to this instrument is to be used in place of Form E in Schedule 1 to the Act.

2  Schedule 3

Repeal the Schedule, substitute:
