Schedule 1—Repeals

Criminal Code (Terrorist Organisation—Jabhat al‑Nusra) Regulation 2016

1  Name

  This instrument is the Criminal Code (Terrorist Organisation—Jabhat Fatah al-Sham) Regulations 2019.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument.

 (2) Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this instrument. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument.

3  Authority

  This instrument is made under the Criminal Code Act 1995.

4  Schedules

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

5  Terrorist organisation—Jabhat Fatah al‑Sham

 (1) For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1(1) of the Criminal Code, the organisation known as Jabhat Fatah al‑Sham is specified.

 (2) Jabhat Fatah al‑Sham is also known by the following names:

 (a) Al‑Nusra Front;

 (b) Al‑Nusrah Front;

 (c) Al‑Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant;

 (d) Conquest of the Levant Front;

 (e) Fatah al‑Sham Front;

 (f) Front for the Conquest for Sham;

 (g) Jabhat al‑Nusra;

 (h) Jabhat al‑Nusrah;

 (i) Jabhat al‑Nusra li‑Ahl al‑Sham Min Mujahideen al‑Sham fi Sahat al‑Jihad;

 (j) Jabhet al‑Nusra;

 (k) Support Front for the People of Syria from the Mujahideen of Syria in the Places of Jihad;

 (l) The Victory Front.
