Part 1—Preliminary 

1  Name

(1) This instrument is the Migration (LIN 20/104: Subclass 462 (Work and Holiday) Visa Specified Areas of Australia and Kinds of Work) Instrument 2020.

(2) This instrument may be cited as LIN 20/104.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under regulation 1.15FA of the Regulations and section 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.

4  Definitions

Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the Regulations, including ANZSCO and specified Subclass 462 work.

In this instrument:

bushfire recovery work means work undertaken, including work undertaken on a volunteer basis, to assist with bushfire recovery efforts in an area specified in paragraph 6(c), including:

(a) construction, farming, or any other work in association with recovery or restitution of land, property, farm animals or wildlife; and

(b) providing support services or assistance to people living, working or volunteering in the affected areas.

Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994.

5  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in Schedule 5 to this instrument is repealed as set out in that Schedule, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

For the definition of specified subclass 462 work in regulation 1.03 of the Regulations:
