This instrument is the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry Legislation Amendment (Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock) Order 2020.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under section 17 of the Australian Meat and Live‑stock Industry Act 1997.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendments commencing day after registration
Australian Meat and Live‑stock Industry (Standards) Order 2005
1 Subsection 3(1)
Repeal the subsection, substitute:
(1) The holder of a live‑stock export licence must not export live‑stock except in accordance with:
(a) if the vessel or aircraft transporting the live‑stock leaves Australia before 1 November 2020—the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (Version 2.3) 2011; or
(b) if the vessel or aircraft transporting the live‑stock leaves Australia on or after 1 November 2020—the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock 3.0.

2 Subsection 3(2)
Omit “For subsection (1)”, substitute “For the purposes of paragraph (1)(a)”.
Schedule 2—Amendments commencing 1 November 2020
1 Section 4 (definition of Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock means the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock 3.0.
