1  Name

This instrument is the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) (Specified Laws) Declaration 2020.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after this instrument is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 119(7) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988.

4   Repeal for the purposes of the Safety, Rehabilitation and  Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988

The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Laws) Declaration 2017 as in force for the purposes of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 under item 63 of Schedule 1 to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Legislation Amendment (Defence Force) Act 2017 is taken to be repealed.

Note:   The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Laws) Declaration 2017 was in force for the purposes of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 because of item 63 of Schedule 1 to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Legislation Amendment (Defence Force) Act 2017.

5 Declaration

For the purposes of subsection 119(7) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988, a law of a State or of a Territory that provides for the payment of compensation, other than workers' compensation, specified in column 1 of an item of the table in the Schedule is a specified law.
