Determination 2021

1    Name

This instrument is the Renewable Energy (Method for Solar Water Heaters) Amendment (Energy Savings) Determination 2021.

2    Commencement

(1)    Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument.

(2)    Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this instrument. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument.

3    Authority

This instrument is made under subregulation 19B(1) of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001.

4    Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Renewable Energy (Method for Solar Water Heaters) Determination 2016

1     Division B of Part 1 of Schedule 1 (method, step 6)

Repeal the step, substitute:

6.    Round down the 10 year MWh savings to the nearest lower whole number. 6A. If the small SWH or ASHP was installed on or after 1 January 2022:

(a)    multiply the number worked out under step 6 by the factor specified in the following table for the year in which the small SWH or ASHP was installed; and

(b)    if the result is not a whole number—round down the result to the nearest lower whole number.

Note: Step 6A (if applicable) is carried out by the Regulator in keeping the Register of solar water heaters under regulation 19C of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001.

2     Division B of Part 1 of Schedule 1 (method, step 7)

Omit “That number”, substitute “The number worked out under step 6 or 6A (as applicable)”.

3     Division B of Part 2 of Schedule 1 (method, step 9)

Repeal the step, substitute:

9.    Round down the 10 year MWh savings to the nearest lower whole number. 9A. If the large SWH was installed on or after 1 January 2022:

(a)    multiply the number worked out under step 9 by the factor specified in the following table for the year in which the large SWH was installed; and

(b)    if the result is not a whole number—round down the result to the nearest lower whole number.
