Australian Renewable Energy Agency Regulation 2016

1  Name

  This instrument is the Australian Renewable Energy Agency Amendment (Powering Australia) Regulations 2022.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1  Section 4

Insert:

electrification technologies means:

 (a) technologies that use electricity and replace technologies that use fossil fuels; or

 (b) technologies that facilitate the replacement of technologies that use fossil fuels with technologies that use electricity.

energy efficiency technologies includes:

 (a) energy conservation technologies; and

 (b) demand management technologies; and

 (c) technologies (including enabling technologies) that are related to energy efficiency technologies.

2  Section 6 (heading)

Omit “clean energy technologies”, substitute “energy efficiency technologies and electrification technologies”.

3  Subparagraphs 6(a)(i), (ii), (iii) and (iv)

Omit “clean energy technologies”, substitute “energy efficiency technologies or electrification technologies”.

4  Paragraph 6(d)

Omit “clean energy projects”, substitute “energy efficiency projects or electrification projects”.

5  Section 7 (heading)

Omit “clean energy technologies”, substitute “energy efficiency technologies and electrification technologies”.
