(1) This instrument is the National Health (COVID‑19 Supply of Pharmaceutical Benefits) Special Arrangement Amendment (Extension for Receipt Requirements) Instrument 2023.

(2) This instrument may also be cited as PB 33 of 2023.

(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 100(2) of the National Health Act 1953.

4 Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Omit:

This instrument makes a special arrangement for the supply of pharmaceutical benefits by approved hospital authorities based on a digital image of a paper‑based prescription, or a copy of a paper‑based prescription.

This instrument also modifies arrangements for supplies of pharmaceutical benefits in relation to written acknowledgement of receipt of the benefits and signatures for records of supplies of the benefits on pharmaceutical benefits prescription record forms.

2 Subsection 6(1)

Repeal the following definitions:

(a) definition of approved hospital authority;

(b) definition of CTS claim;

(e) definition of paper‑based prescription;

(f) definition of PBS prescriber;

(g) definition of pharmacist/patient copy;

(h) definition of relevant streamlined authority code.

3 Subsection 6(3)

Repeal the subsection.

Repeal the section, substitute:

18 Continued application of Special Arrangement on and after 1 April 2023

This Special Arrangement, as in force immediately before 1 April 2023, continues to apply on and after 1 April 2023 in relation to the supply of a pharmaceutical benefit made under this Special Arrangement before 1 April 2023.

19 Continued application of Special Arrangement on and after 1 April 2024

This Special Arrangement, as in force immediately before 1 April 2024, continues to apply on and after 1 April 2024 in relation to the supply of a pharmaceutical benefit made under this Special Arrangement before 1 April 2024.
