Fisheries Management (Southern Squid Jig Fishery) (Total Allowable Effort) Determination 2023
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination in accordance with a decision made by the Commission under section 23 of the Fisheries Administration Act 1991.

This instrument is the Fisheries Management (Southern Squid Jig Fishery) (Total Allowable Effort) Determination 2023.
This instrument commences on 1 January 2024.
This instrument ceases on 31 December 2024.
This instrument is made under section 11 of the Management Plan for the purpose of paragraph 17(6)(aa) of the Act.
Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the definitions section of the Management Plan, including the following:
(a) fishing year;
(b) standard squid jigging machine; and
(c) total allowable effort or TAE;
Management Plan means Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005.
Act means the Fisheries Management Act 1991.
6 Determination of total allowable effort
The total allowable effort for the Southern Squid Jig Fishery for the 2024 fishing year, commencing on 1 January 2024 and ending on 31 December 2024 (inclusive), is 550 standard squid jigging machines.
