Schedule 1—Institutions
This instrument is the Migration (Institutions and Disciplines for Subclass 476) (LIN24/015) Specification 2024.
This instrument commences on the day after the instrument is registered.
This instrument is made under clause 476.212 of Schedule 2 to the Migration Regulations 1994.
In this instrument:
accrediting body means an institution or organisation that is responsible for accrediting engineering degree programs.
Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994.
signatory means an accrediting body that has achieved full signatory status under the Washington Accord.
Subclass 476 visa means Subclass 476 (Skilled – Recognised Graduate) visa.
Washington Accord means the multilateral agreement, first signed in 1989, that enables the cross-border recognition of engineering qualifications.
Migration Regulations 1994 – Institutions and Disciplines for Subclass 476 (Skilled – Recognised Graduate) Visas – IMMI 14/010 is repealed.
6 Institutions for Subclass 476 visa
(1) For the purposes of paragraph 476.212(b) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, an institution is specified if:
(a) the institution is mentioned in column 2 of an item in the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument; or
(b) the institution:
(i) conducts a course that is accredited by an accrediting body that is a signatory to the Washington Accord; and
(ii) is an institution whose name is published on the website of that accrediting body.
7 Disciplines for Subclass 476 visa
For the purposes of clause 476.212 of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, Engineering is specified as a discipline.
