This instrument is the Health Insurance Legislation Amendment (Indexation) Determination 2024.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under subsection 3C(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Indexation provision amendments
1 Subsection 9(1)
Repeal the subsection, substitute:
(1) At the start of 1 July 2024 (the indexation time), each amount covered by subsection (2) is replaced by the amount worked out using the following formula:

9 Indexation
(1) At the start of 1 July 2024 (the indexation time), each amount covered by subsection (2) is replaced by the amount worked out using the following formula:

(2) The amounts covered by this subsection are the fee for each item in Schedule 1 of this Determination.
(3) An amount worked out under subsection (1) is to be rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents (rounding down if the amount is an exact multiple of 2.5 cents).
Schedule 2—Indexation amendments
1 Subsection 9(1)
Omit “$144.70”, substitute “$149.75”.
2 Section 10(1)
Repeal the subsection, substitute:
(1) At the start of 1 July 2024 (the indexation time), each amount covered by subclause (2) is replaced by the amount worked out using the following formula:

7. Indexation
(1) At the start of 1 July 2024 (the indexation time), each amount covered by subsection (2) is replaced by the amount worked out using the following formula:

(2) The amounts covered by this subsection are the fee for each item in Schedule 1 of this Determination.
(3) To avoid doubt, a fee listed in table 1.1.1 is not indexed under subsection (1).
(4) An amount worked out under subsection (1) is to be rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents (rounding down if the amount is an exact multiple of 2.5 cents).
