AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the commencement date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below repeals Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/CESSNA 210/16 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR and subsection 33 (3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Textron Aviation (Cessna) 210 Series Aeroplanes

 

Applicability:

Textron Aviation (Cessna) Model T210F thru T210N (Serial Numbers T210-0001 through T210-0454 and 21059200 through 21064897).

Requirement:

1. Inspect and test the exhaust manifold heat exchanger in accordance with Textron Aviation (Cessna) Service Letter No. SE71-11 dated 16 April 1971, as in force on the date of commencement of this AD.

2. Replace all defective parts of the exhaust system identified during the inspections and/or tests.

Note 1:  United States of America Federal Aviation Administration AD 71-09-07 R1 is the basis for this CASA AD.

Compliance:

For Requirement 1:  At intervals not to exceed 50 hours’ time-in-service since last inspection.

For Requirement 2:  Before further flight.

 

This AD commences on 7 June 2024.

Background:

Repetitive inspections of the engine exhaust system are required to reduce the possibility of exhaust gases entering the cabin.

Amendment 1 of this AD updates the applicability statement to align with FAA AD 71-09-07R1 which more accurately reflects the affected aircraft population, and makes minor editorial changes throughout the text.
