Schedule 1—Exemption

1 Name

This instrument is the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Exemption) Instrument (No. 2) 2024.

2 Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3 Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 37(1) of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012.

4 Definitions

In this instrument:

Determination means the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Household Refrigerating Appliances) Determination 2019.

exempt models: see section 5.

5 Exemption

The models specified in clause 1 of Schedule 1 (the exempt models) are exempt from the requirements of the Determination as described at clause 2 of Schedule 1 with respect to the supplies of the exempt models specified at clause 3 of Schedule 1.

6 Repeal

This instrument is repealed 12 months after coming into effect.

2 Requirements from which models are exempt

Requirements of the Determination as follows:

GEMS level requirements	The identified models are exempted from the GEMS level requirements, which are set out in part 8 of the Determination.
GEMS labelling requirements	The identified models are exempted from the GEMS labelling requirements, which are set out in part 9 of the Determination.
GEMS other requirements	The identified models are exempted from the GEMS other requirements, which are set out in part 10 of the Determination.

3 Supplies to which the exemption applies

This exemption applies in relation to any supplies of refrigerators with the specifications set out in clause 1 of this Schedule.
