1  Name

  This instrument is the Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical Services – Telehealth and Telephone Attendances) Amendment (Inpatient psychiatry attendances) Determination 2024.

2  Commencement

  1.     Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1 Amendments

Health Insurance (Section 3C General Medical Services – Telehealth and Telephone Attendances) Determination 2021

1  After section 3

Insert:

4  Cessation

 Unless earlier revoked, Schedule 6 of this instrument ceases as if revoked on 31 October 2026 at 11.59pm.

2  Subsection 7(1A)

After “Schedule 2”, insert “or an item listed in Schedule 6”.

3  At the end of the instrument

6.1.1  Application of temporary consultant psychiatrist telehealth service items

(1)  Clause 1.2.2 of the general medical services table shall have effect as if all items in Division 6.1 were specified in the clause.

(d) the patient has not received a service to which item 92479, 92480, 92481, 92482 or 92483 applies in the last seven days

(a) is a new patient for this consultant psychiatrist; or

(b) has not received a professional attendance from the consultant psychiatrist in the preceding 24 months;

other than attendance on a patient in relation to whom this item, or any of items 296, 297, 299, 300, 302, 304, 306, 308, 91827 to 91831, 91837 to 91839, 92437 and 92478 to 92482 has applied in the preceding 24 months (H)
