1  Name

  This instrument is the Remuneration Tribunal Amendment Determination (No. 7) 2024.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

  This instrument is made under subsections 7(3), (3AA), (4) and (4B) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Remuneration Tribunal (Judicial and Related Offices—Remuneration and Allowances) Determination 2024

1  Subsections 14(2) and (3)

Omit “6 weeks”, substitute “8 weeks”.

2  Section 41 (at the end of Table 5A)

Add:

These subsections, as amended by the Remuneration Tribunal Amendment Determination (No. 7) 2024, apply on and after 1 January 2025.

3  Subsection 15(2) (Table 3B, table item 2)

Repeal the item.

4  Section 8

Insert:

eligible member:

 (a) in relation to the Council for the Order of Australia or the Australian Bravery Decorations Council—means a person who is appointed to the relevant Council by the GovernorGeneral, and who is not:

 (i) a fulltime employee of a State, Territory or the Commonwealth; or

 (ii) a holder of a fulltime office established by, or a fulltime appointment made under, a law of a State, Territory or the Commonwealth; or

 (b) in relation to the National Emergency Medal Committee means a person who is appointed to the Committee as a community representative and who is not:

 (i) a fulltime employee of a State, Territory or the Commonwealth; or

 (ii) a holder of a fulltime office established by, or a fulltime appointment made under, a law of a State, Territory or the Commonwealth.
